“Utter Thanet Medway”
What is it like living in Medway? Is it great? Or less so? What do you love about it? What do you dislike? How could it be better? Is it changing? What do you think about the changes? We’re interested in what you think, so come and have your say!
Mischievous Theatre CIC is interviewing a thousand people on the Isle of Thanet to find their answers to some of these questions and to then create a piece of theatre based on the answers. To test the responses, we want to compare what the people of Thanet say to what you in Medway think about your community. Have we got the same loves, fears, worries and hopes as each other, or are the two areas very different?
WORKSHOP
Mischievous are running a workshop to explore and experiment with the techniques and strategies they are using to research and create a piece of verbatim/from-real-life-testimony theatre. How do we find the people? How do we conduct our interviews? How do we curate the words of the public in an honourable and honest way to make a piece of theatre that is truthful, insightful, provocative and, ultimately, uplifting?
Join them at The Brook Theatre for a workshop session from 10-12noon (Activity room) followed by an open interview consultation from 12-4pm (Meeting room).
