Lyrici Arts and Darren Prichard are looking for six exceptional performers to star in a Medway remaking of one of his classic shows!
Do you have something to say about the world around you?
Do you have an interesting story to tell? We want to hear from you!
We are looking for six solo acts to be part of a digital theatre show, staged and filmed at The GlassBox Theatre, Medway in June 2021.
We are looking for lyrical acts; singers, dancers, poets, rappers, beatboxers, spoken word artists, anyone with performance and storytelling talent that will blow us away. You might not have ever performed professionally, might have performed in nightclubs, raves, festivals or even just in your friend’s front room.
We are looking for people aged 18+, from all backgrounds but living in or with a proven connection to Medway and its communities. Lyrici Arts are especially interested and passionate about highlighting Black voices and those who are currently underrepresented.
The devised theatrical film will be in a variety act style, and will feature solo performances which capture moments of honest personal storytelling. This will be created with Darren and the company in rehearsals.
Performers will be paid a flat-rate of £1250 for a 9 week period.
Rehearsals will take place online for eight weeks (80 hours over Zoom) from the 5th April – 24th May 2021.
Technical rehearsals and filming will happen in person one day between 31st May- 5th June 2021. The premiere of the show is planned for the last week of June 2021.
If you are interested in being considered for the casting please send us a video of yourself performing your best talent (this can be filmed on your phone) and send us a short piece of writing (max 1 A4 page) or film (max 3 minutes) about who you are, your story, and why you’d like to be considered for this show.
Please send your applications to info@lyriciarts.com by 12noon on the 17th March 2021. Please also email us for any further information or if we can support any access needs.
Auditions will be held over Zoom on the 23rd March 2021 at 6 – 7.30pm.
