Legacy was a community arts library project devised by Lyrici Arts and in partnership with Medway Libraries and Medway Council’s Arts Development Team. It was a season of free lyrical and literature events which included adult author talks, poetry, music, dance and theatre events, storytelling, family workshops and food – all rooted in African and Caribbean culture.
Events included:

• ‘I am the Referee’ book talk with Ian John Lewis and author Mark Heffernan
• The Story of Lovers Rock feat Menelik Shabazz
• Wil Johnson: A Kent actor’s career from grass roots to National fame
• MOBO: Through the Ages feat The Vanbrugh Hill Syndicate
• How music came to the world: African storytelling feat Olusola Oyeleye
• Moon on a Rainbow Shawl: Playtext analysis and drama workshop with Anthony Ekundayo Lennon
• Legacy Closing Weekend: Exploring Shakespeare in Black Theatre feat Wil Johnson and Anthony Ekundayo Lennon.
