Lyrici means: ‘Of Literature, art or music..expressing the writer’s emotions in an imaginative and beautiful way.’
Lyrici Arts is a Black-led theatre company based in Medway. We originate and tour lyrical theatre shaped by Black heritage, traditions and collective histories.
Our work centres on rhythm, language and cultural memory. We believe theatre can hold complexity, pride and joy at the same time, and that above all, theatre is for everyone.
We are rooted in Medway, an Arts Council England Priority Place, contributing to local cultural placemaking while building sustainable national touring pathways.
Our Vision
We are building a Black heritage theatre company that originates powerful new work, develops artists for long-term careers, embeds Black-authored theatre in education, strengthens regional cultural infrastructure, and tours nationally from a Medway base.
2026–28 Focus
This period is a focused phase of origination, touring and consolidation.
