Theatre for everyone, by everyone.
Diversity and inclusion shouldn’t just be a buzzword. It should be embedded in everything we do.
We believe that everyone should have access to culture, regardless of race, ethnicity, disability, social background, age, gender, sexuality or any other characteristic. We bring together communities and creatives in an area that is externally viewed as having high deprivation and low arts engagement.
Growing up in Medway we did not see other Black and Ethnic people on stage and in theatres. We did not see ourselves represented. We seek to change that. We want people from all backgrounds to see themselves on the stage and page, through arts that speak to them. It’s not just about diverse and inclusive audiences. We take the same approach to our practitioners, seeking to work with those of all ethnicities and backgrounds.
We also enable Black and diverse arts and artists to take centre stage to amplify the amazing work that people of colour produce. We will make creative expression in Medway part of the route to national and international collaborations.
We are committed to the arts, and create Black lyrical works of our own to tour and tell our own stories. Theatre is in our soul, and we create soulful experiences for anyone and everyone to enjoy.
